This module aims to prepare students for the practice of undertaking high quality research in health and nursing care. They will upgrade their knowledge about principles of profesional research ethics and became aware of specific questions which appears on the field of health sciences and nursing.. Objectives and competences: Student: - Is acquainted with research paradigms and research approaches which inform nursing and healthcare practice; - and recognizes significance and characteristics of research work and research for nursing; On success ful completion of this module students should be able to: Develop an expertise in qualitative and quantitative research design, with particular reference to issues of sampling, access, ethics and rigour. Become skilled in the use of a range of techniques for the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data. Develop the knowledge and skills essential for the effective dissemination and evaluation of qualitative and quantitative research. Intended learning outcomes: Knowledge and Understanding: - Knowledge of research methodology and different research approaches; -Qualified for independent quantitative and qualitative research; Learning and teaching methods: Lectures, seminars, computer hands on lessons.
