10 MASTER PLAN ANNUAL UPDATE expressway; and (3) add toll lanes to ramp plazas, as necessary, to accommodate ramp widenings or convert to aet. Implementation of this project will improve intersection operations and level-of-service to alleviate potential future congestion and will mitigate existing weaving problems between the toll plaza and the intersection. this project is programmed for construction in fY 2013. 427713-1 Implement West Palm beach toll Plaza dedicated lane conversion in Palm beach county. This is an efficiency project to create dedicated sunPass lanes at the West Palm beach Plaza of the okeechobee boulevard Interchange in Palm Beach County. Specifically, one entering cash lane (lane 2/22) will be converted to a dedicated sunPass lane and an exiting cash lane (lane 4) will be converted to a dedicated sunPass lane. the scope of this project includes the installation of toll equipment, sign enhancement, pavement markings, installation of guardrails, and modifications to the toll islands. Implementation of this project provides a customer service improvement for sunPass users, reduces congestion at the toll plazas, and encourages sunPass participation. this project is programmed for construction in fY 2012. 429324-1 construct auxiliary lanes on the turnpike mainline from the lantana toll Plaza to lake Worth road in Palm beach county. This is an efficiency project to construct auxiliary lanes in both directions on the turnpike mainline/s.r. 91 to create a six-lane roadway section between the lantana toll Plaza and the lake Worth road Interchange. this improvement includes the widening of the canal bridge north of lantana Road and provides improved traffic operations in this location until 2025. this project is programmed for construction in fY 2019. 429325-1 Implement southbound exit ramp Improvements on the heft at sW 8th street in miami-dade county. This is an efficiency project to improve the southbound exit ramp at the heft Interchange at SW 8th Street. Specifically, this project includes the following improvements: (1) realign the southbound heft exit ramp to westbound sW 8th street and widen to two lanes; (2) realign the ramp to align with terminus of the southbound loop off-ramp to sW 8th street; (3) construct a wider bridge over the canal to accommodate the realigned and widened ramp; (4) revise the traffic signal at the new ramp terminal intersection; and (5) provide a second northbound left turn lane at the east intersection for additional capacity. Implementation of this project will provide a more orderly pattern for signalized traffic control at the ramp terminus intersection and will provide better congestion control along sW 8th street. this project is programmed for construction in fY 2013. Southbound Exit Ramp at the HEFT Interchange at SW 8th Street 429328-1 construct auxiliary lanes on the heft from nW 57th avenue to the miramar toll Plaza in miamidade county. This is an efficiency project to construct auxiliary lanes in both directions on the heft/s.r. 821 from nW 57th avenue to the miramar toll Plaza, creating a six-lane section between the interchange and the

toll plaza. This improvement modifies the existing bridge structures within the project limits by reducing the inside/outside shoulders to allow for three, 12-foot travel lanes and four-foot shoulders. Upon implementation, this project will reduce the potential for bottlenecks in the existing four-lane segment between nW 57th avenue and the miramar toll Plaza. this project is programmed for construction in fY 2020. 429329-1 Implement southbound heft exit ramp Improvements and bird road Intersection Improvements in miami-dade county. This is an efficiency project to implement improvements to the southbound exit ramp of the heft/s.r. 821 Interchange at bird road and to improve the intersection at Bird Road. Specifically, this project includes the following improvements: (1) widen the intersection approach of the southbound exit ramp terminal at bird road to provide three right-turn lanes and three left-turn lanes at the intersection; (2) extend the six-lane cross section of bird road on the west side of the heft between sW 117th court toward sW 122nd avenue as far as possible to avoid purchasing right-of-way or widening the canal bridge; (3) extend the eastbound bird road left-turn storage lane to sW 117th avenue; and (4) relocate the northbound heft exit ramp bridge over the snapper creek canal so that it provides a two-lane diverge from the northbound heft, an extended storage section, and three left-turn lanes at the sW 117th avenue intersection approach. these improvements are consistent with the proposed “ultimate” interchange configuration for the HEFT in this location. Implementation of these improvements will increase capacity and vehicle storage at both the southbound and northbound exit ramp terminals. relocation of the northbound exit ramp bridge will lengthen the distance between the ramp and the sW 117th avenue/bird road intersection, providing additional storage length and reducing the likelihood that the ramp will back-up onto the northbound heft. this project is scheduled for construction in fY 2013. 429331-1 FY 2011 - FY 2035 Implement Interchange northbound ramp Improvements on the turnpike mainline at Interstate 4 in orange county This is an efficiency project to implement northbound ramp improvements on the turnpike Mainline/S.R. 91 at Interstate 4. Specifically, this project includes the following improvements (1) widen the northbound turnpike off-ramp from onelane to two-lanes; (2) widen the northbound side of the interchange connector road by one additional lane; (3) widen the on-ramp to Interstate 4 eastbound from one-lane to two-lanes; and (4) tie-in the Interstate 4 eastbound on-ramp to the existing pick-up lane just east of the Interchange on Interstate 4 eastbound. Implementation of this project will alleviate peak traffic period back-ups that occur through the interchange and sometimes spill onto the turnpike mainline. this project is scheduled for construction in fY 2013. Implement southbound heft exit
ramp Improvements and bird
road Intersection Improvements
in miami-dade county.
This is an efficiency project to implement
improvements to the southbound exit ramp of the
heft/s.r. 821 Interchange at bird road and to
improve the intersection at Bird Road. Specifically,
this project includes the following improvements: (1)
widen the intersection approach of the southbound
exit ramp terminal at bird road to provide three
right-turn lanes and three left-turn lanes at the
intersection; (2) extend the six-lane cross section of
bird road on the west side of the heft between sW
117th court toward sW 122nd avenue as far as
possible to avoid purchasing right-of-way or
widening the canal bridge; (3) extend the
eastbound bird road left-turn storage lane to sW
117th avenue; and (4) relocate the northbound
heft exit ramp bridge over the snapper creek
canal so that it provides a two-lane diverge from
the northbound heft, an extended storage section,
and three left-turn lanes at the sW 117th avenue
intersection approach. these improvements are
