Figure 2-1 shows a process you can
follow to determine whether an employee
performs a safety-sensitive function.
Figure 2-2 gives further details on the
categories of employees working in
positions that are considered safetysensitive.
Since job titles and corresponding
duties are not consistent from system to
system, individual job functions should
be considered, rather than job titles. If an
individual performs any of the safetysensitive
job functions, then that
individual should be classified as such.
