and the chairs cleared away.
The Student Center is a two-story,
78,000-square-foot building that
houses a 350-seat cafeteria, larger
bookstore, 411-seat auditorium,
One Stop Center for enrollment
services, Student Life rooms for
student government and clubs
and a new student lounge.
The Student Center is the first
public building in Ontario
County designed to be certified
under the Leadership in Energy
and Environmental Design
rating system of the U.S. Green
Building Council. Green features
include 192 solar panels on
the roof, sustainable building
materials such as 95 percent
recycled structural steel and
stone quarried in New York,
carpool parking, large windows
and skylights to maximize the
natural daylight, and a building
envelope that exceeds today’s
insulation standards.
