The <strong>Finger</strong> <strong>Lakes</strong> Community College Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) charitable corporation established to seek<br />
financial support for the College from the private sector. Given the ever-increasing constraints <strong>and</strong> reduced<br />
levels of public funds, private giving is increasingly important to public higher education. Private contributions<br />
are vital to maintaining a st<strong>and</strong>ard of excellence at <strong>Finger</strong> <strong>Lakes</strong> Community College.<br />
The Foundation assists the College with equipment purchases, special projects, faculty <strong>and</strong> special purpose<br />
campus events. The Foundation also receives <strong>and</strong> manages scholarships that help deserving FLCC <strong>students</strong><br />
succeed in their chosen fields of study. Many of the named scholarships, which the foundation oversees,<br />
were established by individuals connected with the College <strong>and</strong> its mission.<br />
In addition, the Foundation owns <strong>and</strong> maintains three properties for the College’s use. The 40-acre Muller Field<br />
Station on Honeoye Lake offers a unique learning environment where <strong>students</strong> participate in telemetry research,<br />
walleye culture <strong>and</strong> river otter studies. Muller, adjacent to 1,000 acres of state l<strong>and</strong>, houses a retreat center <strong>and</strong><br />
working fish hatchery. The East Hill Campus in Naples continues to develop its focus <strong>and</strong> wildl<strong>and</strong> fire suppression<br />
training <strong>and</strong> conservation class offerings. On the main campus in Can<strong>and</strong>aigua, the FLCC Honors House program<br />
offerings exp<strong>and</strong> annually hosting classes, meetings, events, <strong>and</strong> exhibits designed to encourage critical thinking,<br />
creative expression <strong>and</strong> mindful action.<br />
The Foundation’s link with alumni is maintained through the Alumni Association.<br />

Friends of Chorale 40th Anniversary Campaign<br />
A group known as the “Friends of Chorale” was created to provide financial <strong>and</strong> moral support for the <strong>Finger</strong> <strong>Lakes</strong> Chorale,<br />
a performing group associated with <strong>Finger</strong> <strong>Lakes</strong> Community College for the last 40 years. In honor of the 40th Anniversary, a<br />
celebration concert, H<strong>and</strong>el’s “Solomon”, was performed by the Chorale <strong>and</strong> the <strong>Finger</strong> <strong>Lakes</strong> Camerata on April 30<br />
<strong>and</strong> May 1. In conjunction with the anniversary <strong>and</strong> the concert, Friends of Chorale conducted a successful fundraising<br />
campaign which surpassed their goal of $4,000. Thanks to everyone listed who supported the campaign with a donation.<br />
