ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER
In accordance with the provisions of Title 28, United States Code, Section 631,
and the policies promulgated by the Judicial Conference of the United States, the
following individuals, all residents of the Northern District of Florida, are hereby
reappointed as members of this District’s Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel to
assist the District Court in the reappointment of the full-time U.S. Magistrate Judge for
the Pensacola Division of the Northern District of Florida.

The Chair shall call a meeting of the panel to perform its duties. The Chair shall
exercise all the powers and duties necessary to insure that the panel is able to fairly and
comprehensively review the incumbent’s current service as magistrate judge and other
experience, comments from members of the bar and public, and other evidence of
incumbent’s good character, ability, and commitment to equal justice under the law. The
Chair shall submit a written report of whether it recommends the incumbent for
reappointment to an additional term of office no later than February 25, 2012.
Although members of this panel will receive no compensation for their services,
they are authorized travel and transportation expenses, reimbursement of expenses
reasonably incurred in connection with their duties on this panel, and subsistence for
those members in a “travel status.”
By copy of this Order, the Clerk of Court is directed to provide administrative
support, as appropriate, to the Chair and the Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel.
