According to the official data, Myanmar exported less than 150,000 m 3 of overall timber products to Thailand via the sea in 2009, mostly in the form of logs and sawnwood. However, if significant amounts of Myanmar sawnwood are entering Thailand via Malaysia and are labeled as Malaysian wood, these numbers would be possibly underestimated. Furthermore, there is still an existing problem with wood being imported overland from Myanmar through unofficial border crossing, which may not be taken into account in official Thailand statistics. 5.1.3 Imports from Laos Figure 26.
