<strong>1988</strong> LARGE DAMAGING FIRE SUMMARY<br />
The following list includes fires 300 acres or larger that burned at least:<br />
30 acres of timber, or 300 acres of brush or 1500 acres of woodland and/or grass, or on which<br />
3000 CDF person hours were expended.<br />
The list is primarily CDF fires, but also includes some other agency fires on which CDF forces<br />
were significantly involved . The other agency fires shown are not a complete list of any other<br />
agencies large fires.<br />
Abbreviations used in this list are:<br />
DATE START = Date fire started.<br />
DATE CONT . = Date fire contained.<br />
ORIGIN D .P .A . = The agency on whose direct protection area (D .P .A .) the fire started.<br />
ACRES BURNED = Acres burned in direct protection area of CDF, other agencies, and total<br />
area burned.<br />
VEG .TYPE = Type of vegetation on area burned.<br />
T = Timber<br />
B = Brush<br />
W = Woodland<br />
G = Grass<br />
AP = Agricultural Products<br />
DWELLINGS AND = Number of dwellings and structures destroyed or damaged . Dwellings and<br />
STRUCTURES structures destroyed or damaged by fires not included on this list have<br />
not been tabulated.<br />
