<strong>1988</strong> LARGE DAMAGING FIRE SUMMARY The following list includes fires 300 acres or larger that burned at least: 30 acres of timber, or 300 acres of brush or 1500 acres of woodland and/or grass, or on which 3000 CDF person hours were expended. The list is primarily CDF fires, but also includes some other agency fires on which CDF forces were significantly involved . The other agency fires shown are not a complete list of any other agencies large fires. Abbreviations used in this list are: DATE START = Date fire started. DATE CONT . = Date fire contained. ORIGIN D .P .A . = The agency on whose direct protection area (D .P .A .) the fire started. ACRES BURNED = Acres burned in direct protection area of CDF, other agencies, and total area burned. VEG .TYPE = Type of vegetation on area burned. T = Timber B = Brush W = Woodland G = Grass AP = Agricultural Products DWELLINGS AND = Number of dwellings and structures destroyed or damaged . Dwellings and STRUCTURES structures destroyed or damaged by fires not included on this list have not been tabulated. MISC .
