Tn the end, facing ovexwhelming
odds of some three doaen cops armed

way, the Panthers finally decfded

beaming from seemingly every dirertion,
Bobby Hutton, BPP treasurer,
emerged first from the bullet-ridden
house . His hands were high in
the air . His eyes smaxted f~ron the
sting of teax gas . Then the cops
ordered him to run towards one of
the squad bars . And as he did, one
of the beasts hollered, "He has a
gun :" They smacked their lips as
they opene~., . :fire on this unarmed
Black youth':, arsd little Bobby Huttan,
blood pouxing from the bullet
wounds in his body, fell to the
earth, murdered by the beast . He
was only 17 yeaxs old .
Eventually, Wendell Wells and ~3J .dridge
Cleaver, BPP Minister of Information,
emerged from the house,
where they were taken into custody
by the beast . As soon as they were
taken away from the-site of the bat
tle, both were severly beaten by
the beast ~cops in spite of their
injuries . w A11 in all, 8 Panthers
were arrested by the beast, and :
charged .with sevexal counts of "as- .
