Job Title Name: Enrollment Registrar Director CONTRACT TITLE Higher Education Officer FLSA Exempt CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Associate Provost, the Registrar Director has overall responsibility for the proper functioning of the Registrar's Office. The Registrar Director provides leadership to college-wide initiatives such as registration, web-grading, degree auditing systems, and other technology based systems. In addition, the Registrar Director is responsible for maintaining a responsive office to all campus constituents including students, faculty, staff members and other offices. Specific responsibilities include: - Serve as the leader of an office consisting of over 20 staff members including HEO series, secretarial, and student workers. Responsible for personnel reviews within collective bargaining agreement guidelines and maintaining a professionally run office. - Serve as a resource for new, innovative advances in technology as related to the Registrar's Office. Provide campus-wide guidance, in cooperation with the Instructional Technology Resources Department, in new, innovative technologies implemented on campus. - Provide enrollment and registration reports to senior administrators at Lehman College and to the central office of CUNY as requested. - Provide expert guidance on FERPA issues as related to student information systems and the release of student information to constituents. Determine appropriate access to student information for each individual request. Develop and maintain security policies of student records. - Ensure systematic review of New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) certification processes and adherence to TAP regulations. - Serve on CUNY's Registrar's Council, Lehman College's Enrollment Management Council and other college and university committees, as appropriate. - Develop and administer the departmental budget. - Collaborate with other offices, both within and external to the Enrollment Management Division, to continually improve student services. - Participate in professional development activities within the college and CUNY as well as local and national professional organizations. Encourage professional development activities for staff members of the Registrar's Office. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree and eight years experience in a related college office, with at least five years in a Registrar's Office, preferably within a public institution, required; master's degree preferred. Supervisory experience of staff members, preferably in a collective bargaining environment, required. Demonstrated knowledge of technology applications as related to student registration and student records required. Experience working with other departments outside the Registrar's Office preferred. The Registrar is expected to demonstrate good organizational skills with the ability to work independently, think creatively, take initiative, and use sound judgment under pressure. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
