At 354 p.m., the Senate President, Hon. Manny
Villar, called the session to order.
PRAYER
Sen. Aquilino Q. Pimentel Jr. led the prayer,
to wit:
0 Lord, in these times of distress
and disquiet among our people,
Where the making of money - fair
and foul - appears to be the
primordial goal even of some
leaders of the nation,
Please remind us, Your servants
in the Senate, that as the poet
Ralph Waldo Emerson said, it is
Not gold but only men can make
A people great and strong;
Men who for truth and honor’s sake
Stand fast and suffer long.
Brave men who work while others sleep,
Who dare while others fly.. .
They build a nation’s pillars deep
And lift them to the sky.
Amen.
