Jennifer Hart <strong>of</strong> Elkhorn – accepted a<br />
donation <strong>of</strong> $1,500 from<br />
Aerie/Auxiliary 3943 during a “Big<br />
Red Night” at <strong>the</strong> <strong>Eagles</strong>. Ms. Hart<br />
spoke to<br />

at <strong>the</strong><br />
event<br />
about her<br />
campaign<br />
to<br />
promote<br />
awareness and education regarding<br />
breast cancer. “I can tell you that <strong>the</strong><br />
Susan G. Komen Foundation will be<br />
happy that <strong>the</strong> <strong>Eagles</strong> were so<br />
generous,” she said. Presenting <strong>the</strong><br />

KENAI, AK – The Autism Society <strong>of</strong><br />
Alaska Golden Heart Chapter<br />
received <strong>the</strong> gift <strong>of</strong> two pieces <strong>of</strong><br />
ivory worth $500 from Aerie 3525,<br />
PERU, IL– The fourth annual “Relay <strong>for</strong> Life – Ladies Night”<br />
cancer fundraiser run by <strong>the</strong> wives <strong>of</strong> Aerie 2688 members<br />

TAMA-TOLEDO, IA – Last December, Aerie/Auxiliary 2828 presented a total <strong>of</strong><br />
$1,200 to <strong>the</strong> local Police and Fire Depts. and Ambulance Services. State Madam<br />
Trustee Brenda Youngbear, local Community Service Chairman, did <strong>the</strong> honors. With<br />
her are check recipients Duane Lemke, Roger Benda, John Schmidt, Trent Hootman,<br />
Mike Thomas and Rod Anderson.<br />

ALBERT LEA, MN – A “Soup and<br />
Dessert Supper” at Aerie/Auxiliary<br />
2258 raised money <strong>for</strong> Juvenile<br />
Diabetes Camp. Carol J. Peterson<br />
chaired <strong>the</strong> event, which helped send<br />
a Freeborn County child to <strong>the</strong> camp<br />
that teaches diabetic youngsters how<br />
to cope with <strong>the</strong>ir condition.<br />
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – Just be<strong>for</strong>e she<br />
passed away, 10-year-old Tayah<br />
Mease was chosen by Hawkeye<br />
District as <strong>the</strong>ir <strong>of</strong>ficial 2009-10<br />
District Child. District <strong>Eagles</strong><br />
collected $462 <strong>for</strong> her family to help<br />
with burial expenses. Tayah was<br />
granddaughter <strong>of</strong> Auxiliary 2272<br />
member Marie Ellis.<br />
MILTON, VT – Past Madam President<br />
Lise Morrison spearheaded a drive at<br />
Auxiliary 4218 to collect donations<br />
<strong>of</strong> money and medical supplies <strong>for</strong><br />
victims <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> January earthquake in<br />
Haiti.<br />
MT. CLEMONS, MI – Members <strong>of</strong><br />
Aerie/Auxiliary 1269 who<br />
participated in <strong>the</strong> “Race <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Cure” 5-K breast cancer walk in<br />
Detroit included Erin Miller, Becky<br />
Plodzik, Ken Pasciak, Diann Plodzik,<br />
Brooks Kesler, DeLisa Pasciak and<br />
Denise Ponatawski.<br />
TOLEDO, OH – Jim Caldwell <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Northwest Ohio Food Bank accepted a<br />
$500 donation from Auxiliary 197 Madam<br />
President Patsy Bates and Worthy President<br />
Tom Meineke.<br />
JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Mark Carlson and Cloriaetta Flexenhar<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Cole County Nutrition Center accepted checks <strong>of</strong><br />
$3,022.04 and $1,000 from Aerie/Auxiliary 2693’s Anna Mae<br />
Schaefer, Joe Twehous and Mary Ann Boillot. The money was<br />
raised at a fundraising dinner/raffle, and includes a Golden<br />
Eagle Fund grant.<br />
