PORT ORCHARD, WA – “There are a lot
of veterans in the Eagles, and we
think it’s very important to honor
these people and we want to offer a
space in our club to do so.” So said
Aerie 2338 Trustee Ken Bicha
(pictured) in announcing that the
Aerie is creating its own “Wall of
Honor” saluting area military
veterans of the
wars in Iraq and
Afghanistan. “I
served in
Vietnam myself,”
said Ken, “and I
can remember
how I was treated
when I came
back. Instead of
being spit on, I want these people to
know we appreciate their sacrifice.”
Ken said that in addition to the
Eagles’ Wall of Honor, the Aerie will
honor veterans and their families
with a banquet. The first one was
held on May 29. Port Orchard
resident Devon Gibbons died in
2006 while serving with the US
Army in Iraq. Several times a year,
