Thomas L. “Tom” McGrath, Ferrisburgh, VT, Grand Treasurer, <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Fraternal</strong> <strong>Order</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Eagles</strong> will visit Aerie No. 3801,<br />

Vergennes, VT for the Vermont State Convention to be held June 19 th –<br />

21, 2009.<br />

McGrath joined Rutland Aerie #1001, Rutland, VT on October<br />

He currently server Addison County Aerie #3801 as Secretary<br />

and Chairman <strong>of</strong> the Board <strong>of</strong> Trustees. He has held all local <strong>of</strong>fices<br />

except Treasurer. McGrath was the receipient <strong>of</strong> the Eagle <strong>of</strong> the Year<br />

award at Aerie 3801 twice & received the Outstanding Eagle <strong>of</strong> the Year<br />

and also a lifetime membership from his brothers .<br />

He currently received the H.L. Paris, Eagle <strong>of</strong> the Year award<br />

twice from the Vermont State Aerie. He served as Vermont State Aerie<br />

President in 1992, Northern New England Regional President in 1993.<br />

Continuing to serve this great fraternity as Grand Worthy Conductor in 1995 and was elected to Grand Worthy Chaplain in 1999,<br />

continuing on as a Grand Trustee. While serving as a Board member he reflects on many accomplishments our fraternity has<br />

benefited by: i.e. consolidation <strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong>fices & employees, state <strong>of</strong> the art new headquarters wholly owned, annual employee<br />

appraisals, compensation and benefits packages, employment policy.<br />

McGrath served three terms in the House <strong>of</strong> Representatives, Vermont State General Assembly resigning to become a<br />

McGrath retired in 1995 after 35 years with General Electric and Martin-Marietta Aerospace as Manager <strong>of</strong> Research &<br />

Development, Production Control. He and his wife Peggy have two sons and five grandchildren. He enjoys his grandchildren,<br />

traveling and representing the Grand Aerie.
