Organization<br />
University College is home to the Center for Distance<br />
Learning, Center for Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Development, <strong>Florida</strong> Tech<br />
Consulting, Partnership Programs and the School <strong>of</strong> Extended<br />
Studies.<br />
The Center for Distance Learning focuses on the identification,<br />
development and marketing <strong>of</strong> courses and programs<br />
(undergraduate, graduate and pr<strong>of</strong>essional development) for<br />
delivery using distance-learning technologies.<br />
The Center for Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Development provides<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essional development through quality educational training,<br />
seminars, short courses and workshops. Program fees are<br />
due on acceptance or confirmation into the selected program.<br />
Fees may be reduced for multiple participants who register<br />
as a team. To cancel participation and receive a full refund,<br />
the participant must contact the university in writing or by<br />
e-mail 10 business days before the published start date for<br />
the program. If notification is less than 10 days, a refund for<br />
the registration amount, minus an administration fee, will be<br />
issued. If the participant does not cancel and does not attend,<br />
the participant will be responsible for the full fee.<br />
One transfer is allowed per registration. Qualified substitutes<br />
can be accommodated with advance written notice.<br />
The university reserves the right to cancel any program<br />
because <strong>of</strong> low enrollment. The decision will be made 10 days<br />
before the published start date for the program. A full refund<br />
will be made to those who had registered for the canceled<br />
program.<br />
For academic courses taken by non-traditional students for<br />
credit, audit or CEUs, the university academic policies for<br />
withdrawal and refunds will apply.<br />

School <strong>of</strong> Extended Studies<br />
The School <strong>of</strong> Extended Studies <strong>of</strong>fers master’s degree programs<br />
at 12 graduate centers in five states. The programs are<br />
conducted in a traditional manner with admission and graduation<br />
standards the same as those required on the main campus.<br />

Degree Programs<br />
The procedures for admission, specific degree requirements<br />
and curriculum <strong>of</strong>ferings are published separately in the School<br />
<strong>of</strong> Extended Studies catalog. A summary chart <strong>of</strong> degrees<br />
<strong>of</strong>fered by graduate center locations appears at the end <strong>of</strong> this<br />
section. Management courses used to support the School <strong>of</strong><br />
Extended Studies’ master’s programs are identified by the prefix<br />
MGT, and listed in the Course Descriptions section <strong>of</strong> the<br />
School <strong>of</strong> Extended Studies catalog.<br />
Distance Learning<br />
The pr<strong>of</strong>essional M.B.A., M.S. in computer information systems<br />
and all <strong>of</strong> the M.S., management programs, are available<br />
in a complete online distance-learning mode. Visit the Web site<br />
at http://uc.fit.edu/segs for current course <strong>of</strong>ferings and enrollment<br />
information. Courses may be completed for graduate<br />
credit toward a master’s degree, or for non-credit continuing<br />
education. Also, 11 graduate certificate programs are available<br />
via online distance learning. A graduate certificate program<br />
requires completion <strong>of</strong> five courses for a total <strong>of</strong> 15 graduate<br />
credit hours. Enrollment information and further details about<br />
the graduate certificate programs may be obtained from the<br />
graduate centers or in the published school catalog.<br />

Acquisition and Contract Management<br />
Master <strong>of</strong> Science Degree Program<br />
The Master <strong>of</strong> Science program in Acquisition and Contract<br />
Management is designed for adult working pr<strong>of</strong>essionals in the<br />
public and private sectors <strong>of</strong> acquisition and contract management.<br />
The curriculum provides coverage <strong>of</strong> federal procurement<br />
practices, current issues in contracting and contract<br />
administration, legal and financial aspects <strong>of</strong> government<br />
contracting and policy issues associated with acquisition and<br />
contract management. Individuals without current experience<br />
in acquisition and contract management may be accepted into<br />
this program; however, all program prerequisite courses must<br />
be fulfilled.<br />
Admission Requirements<br />
The applicant to the Master <strong>of</strong> Science in Acquisition and<br />
Contract Management program must have a bachelor’s degree;<br />
however, the degree need not be in business administration.<br />
Students with undergraduate business degrees or courses may<br />
be able to waive the program prerequisites based on evaluations<br />
<strong>of</strong> their undergraduate academic transcripts.<br />
