Committees & Task Forces<br />
IFA Board of Directors & Forums<br />
With three distinct types of members, the IFA has<br />
created separate forums for each of the membership<br />
categories that all report to the IFA Board of Directors<br />
BOARD OF DIRECTORS<br />
To provide governance and policy development for IFA.<br />
Consists of 39 members, including the Chair and 1st<br />
Vice Chair of the <strong>Franchise</strong>e Forum, the Chairs of the<br />
Franchisor and Supplier Forums. Terms are three years<br />
and members may succeed themselves for one additional<br />
three-year term. Eligibility requires service on<br />
committees. Nominating committee presents a slate of<br />
candidates that the Board considers and elects. For a<br />

FRANCHISOR FORUM<br />
To provide an opportunity for franchisor members of the<br />
IFA to discuss matters of interest primarily to franchisors.<br />
The Franchisor Forum serves in an advisory capacity to<br />
the IFA Board of Directors, which will consider the opinions<br />
and recommendations of the Forum in formulating<br />
and modifying the policies and programs of the IFA that<br />
affect the franchising community. It is further understood<br />
that the Forum will provide subgroups, for<br />
discussion of policy and operational issues affecting IFA<br />

FRANCHISEE FORUM<br />
To encourage meaningful dialogue between franchisees<br />
and franchisors, and to be instrumental in addressing and<br />
resolving concerns of mutual interest. <strong>Franchise</strong>e Forum<br />
Officers and members are elected by their peers on the<br />
Forum from nominations received by the IFA membership.<br />

the IFA Board of Directors, which will consider the opinions<br />

SUPPLIER FORUM ADVISORY BOARD<br />
To promote the continued growth of franchising through<br />
a network of informed suppliers dedicated to superior<br />
service and professionalism, and to better support<br />
members of the franchising community with high<br />
quality products, new technologies and educational<br />
opportunities. Supplier Forum Advisory Board officers<br />
and members are elected by their peers on the Forum<br />

IFA Educational Foundation<br />
Increasing the knowledge and professional standards of<br />
all members of the franchising community…Educating<br />
the next generation of franchising practitioners…<br />
Increasing recognition of franchising’s key role in the free<br />
enterprise system…Providing comprehensive information<br />
and research about important developments and trends<br />
in franchising… The IFA Educational Foundation,<br />
founded in 1983, is a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization.<br />
The Foundation is supported through the generous<br />
contributions of IFA members and others. All contributions<br />
are tax deductible.<br />
IFA Diversity Institute<br />
18 INTERNATIONAL FRANCHISE ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP HANDBOOK<br />
The IFA Diversity Institute was formed to promote and<br />
foster diversity and inclusion within the franchising<br />
community and to promote franchising to diverse<br />
communities. The Institute also will provide information<br />
to assist IFA members expand their diversity efforts at all<br />
levels, including franchisees, employees, suppliers and<br />
consumers.<br />
