» The Intersport SpringFestival is, together with the Austrian Demo Championships, the 

sporting high point of the season for us as Head Power One - demo team of the Fiss-Ladis 

Ski School. Each and every year it is an interesting and wonderful challenge to test yourself 

against the best teams from all over Austria. Besides the super-organised sports competitions, 

it is also awesome fun to be together with your confreres. We look forward to coming 

again this year and hope that as many teams as possible are at the starting line. See you at

» The Arlberg Adler - a superlative challenge. Whoever is seeking a challenge 

of the highest order is advised to take part in the Arlberg Adler. Because the 

synthesis of these three disciplines is unbeatable: “Been there, done that.” 

The adrenaline kick from the “Weißer Rausch” is hard to find anywhere else. 

The Jakobilauf is a superb half-marathon. The route along the Rosanna River is 

extremely attractive and the gentle bubbling brook compensates for the pain 

you’re feeling from the effort for the ascent. At the Arlberg Bike Marathon, 

rollicking downhill passages, strenuous and steep ascents await you. And now 

and again you grant yourself - as a reward - a glance out over the splendid views 

down to the green valley. After so much sweat and training, you are justifiably

Arlberg Adler 

Three competitions - One winner 

Courage, strength, perseverance, but above all, the power of will to keep yourself 

fit over five long months: these are the secrets of this very special type of triathlon. 

A ski race in its primeval form, kicking off with a mass start. A half-marathon with an 

extraordinary route and a bike marathon that even the pros will find challenging. 

Whoever does all that in one calendar year can wear with pride the finisher’s gift, the 

“Arlberg Adler”. This is sport at its purest, at its best.

This unique competition is an easier version of the legendary „Arlberg Eagle“. 

Here we make it possible for all big sporting event fans to be part of the most unusual triathlon. 

The combined score comprises of the results of the following competitions:

Children born between 2000 – 1995 can take part in the Mini White Thrill over the Moos. 

Fit & Fun Run: 8 km distance

probably for everyone else, cannot be compared with anything on earth. 

Everyone who has made the decision to participate in this race is burning 

with enthusiasm and ‘champing at the bit’ to start into the unknown. Will I 

get off to a good start with all these crazies around me? Will the ascent be 

harder than it was during training? How big are the bumps? Have I put on 

the right wax? Will my strength last for the final obstacles? Will I be able to 

improve my own personal best time? Can I beat my best friend this year?

Attention: Bib numbers must be picked up before 12:00 noon, otherwise the Bib

case of non-start. Only 500 starting places are permitted! 

We call your attention to the fact that due to varying conditions on the slopes for 

the different starting groups (obstacles), the winner can only be declared from 

the first group. For starters in the second and third starting groups, 15 wildcards 

will be applied. Criteria for a wildcard are the previous year’s result and the 

skiing career of the participant. Wildcards are only granted by OK and cannot be 

disputed.

» Back to nature! Whoever runs this spectacular marathon 

through an unforgettable panorama knows what I mean by that. 

For me personally, the most beautiful run on my running calendar 

and the non-plus-ultra high point. I originally intended to run this 

race only once, but the unique route simply won‘t let me do that. 

Despite physical exhaustion, there is still so much good-feeling

» The Arlberg Bike Marathon is not only the final discipline of 

the Arlberg Eagle, it is a must for every serious cyclist - even as an 

individual event. Peppered with steep ascents such as the Gampen, 

followed by a single trail down to the Steißbach Valley, on to Verwall 

where you can give it your all until the final ascent to Moostal 

Valley, which will test your endurance levels to the limit (most 

people push their bikes here). Then it’s down to the finish where 

you are welcomed by the excellent organisers with a “Finisher” gift,

» I am a member of the Nostalgia Ski Group of Traisen. Since this group was 

established 25 years ago we have made great efforts to imitate the original skiing 

techniques of yesteryear, the way the pioneers of this sport once practiced them. We 

made the long trip to the Arlberg partly because we have a very special connection to 

St. Anton. We were accorded the honour of opening the Alpine Ski World Championships 

2001 by performing Zdarsky’s skiing techniques to the wild applause and acclaim 

of spectators. That was reason enough to participate in the Nostalgia Ski Race of the Ski 

Club Arlberg, and even with success. The race was a challenge for skier and skis alike. 

As was evident, some tried-and-tested racers from the “far east” of Lower Austria had a 

problem or two along the icy runs with the well-worn wooden slats of the past buckled 

on his/her feet. Everyone was in agreement that we were not on the Arlberg for the last

Participation requirements: 

Equipment: lace-up boots, wooden skis and sticks, and outfit as far as possible just like »way 

back when« at the beginning of the era of skiing. 

Competition rules: 

The fastest time doesn’t determine the winner! The decisive points are won much more 

through equipment and outfit (evaluated by the jury). Additional points are assigned to 

participants who come closest to the average racing time.
