'they wept for three whole days. And they said<br />

'unto him, 'O Job, what is the sin which thou hast<br />

"committed that thou hast arrived at this state of<br />

"misery? cry out to God Almighty that He may<br />

"heal thee.' And Job spake unto them, saying,<br />

"My God is, as ye know, above' the heavens,<br />

"and I am on this earth; and I am not nigh unto job's speech<br />

"Him to ask Him, and I have no excuse where- °<br />

"with I might make excuses unto Him. Moreover,<br />

"He is a mighty king, and the words of my speech<br />

"would not reach Him, even if I could come to<br />

"Him, for He is a righteous Judge, and His judg-<br />

"ments upon me are right and true. For I acknow-<br />

' 'ledge my sin, and also that all this affliction which<br />

"hath arisen through it is meet for me.'<br />

"Then those men who were sitting before him,<br />

'and who were great kings, said unto him, 'We<br />

'know not what thou sayest, for God Almighty<br />

'can only have punished thee with this affliction<br />
