This gateway site consists mainly of low density<br />
detached housing on large plots with established<br />
treestands or vegetation to the northern edge of<br />
the site along Portrane Road .<br />
Topography<br />
The land contained within the area’s boundary<br />
is relatively flat rising southward from the lowest<br />
point along the northern edge (6m) to 7m at its<br />
southeastern edge.<br />
Natural and Manmade Features<br />
Mature tree stands and hedgerows define the<br />
northern boundary along the Portrane Road. Mature<br />
tree stands also delineate the plot boundaries within<br />
the site.<br />
Physical and Visual Connections<br />
No physical connections exist within the site to the<br />
residential estates to the southern boundary.<br />
