1.2 MINIMUM PRODUCTION QUANTITIES AND MARKET<br />

AVAILABILITY<br />

The minimum required production quantities consist of units with identical<br />

equipment intended for sale to customers.<br />

Evidence of production quantities must be provided to the FIM, certified by the<br />

manufacturer’s auditing firm and/or any other institution which may provide<br />

reliable documentation. This certificate must be written in English or French and<br />

the model/type must be specified.<br />

Market availability and sale to the public may be demonstrated by waybills, bills<br />

of lading and/or any other import, export or customs documents duly certified by<br />

the relevant authority.<br />

1.2.1 Homologations for Superbike, Supersport and Superstock.<br />

A manufacturer that requests homologation for a motorcycle for Superbike,<br />

Supersport or Superstock, must observe the following rules:<br />

• The manufacturer must have produced at least a quantity of 125 motorcycles<br />

prior to the homologation inspection (this number may be adjusted<br />

upwards in 2013, for 2014 models). The motorcycle must be on sale to the<br />

public at that time.<br />

• The minimum quantity of 500 units must be reached by the 30 th June of the<br />

current year.<br />

• The minimum quantity of 1000 units must be reached by the 31 st of<br />

December of the current year.<br />

• The minimum quantity of 2000 units must be reached by the 31 st of<br />

December of the following year.<br />

• The ABS or non-ABS variant of the homologated model must be<br />

produced with identical specifications as for the engine, the complete<br />

chassis and for all electric/electronic components. The only exception<br />

will be for all components required with the installation of the ABS<br />

version (i.e.: pump, ABS ECU, hydraulic lines and related wire-loom<br />

and sensors).<br />

• All ABS and non-ABS versions will count towards the total required<br />

production number into one FIM homologation.<br />

• The homologated sub variant (i.e. ABS version or the non-ABS version)<br />

will be produced in 250 units as minimum quantity.<br />

• Only one homologated throttle body and air box may be used or<br />

approved without regard of the sub variant.<br />

• Proof of production quantities must be provided by certified documentation<br />

as stated in Article 2.9.2.<br />
