10 Scott Riley is in his fifth year as a member of the Fighting Sioux coaching staff. Riley works with the forwards/centers. “Scott does a good job coaching the big guys and preparing them for the battles of the NCC.” coach Glas said. He joined the UND staff after spending the 1999 season as a student-assistant coach at Division II Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill. A native of Chicago, Ill., Riley was a fouryear starter at Lewis. As a freshman in 1995, Riley was selected to the Great Lake Valley Nigel Jenkins returns to the Fighting Sioux basketball coaching staff as a graduate assistant for the 2004-05 season. Jenkins was a UND letterwinner for two seasons from 2000-02 and was a student assistant in the 2002-03 season. Jenkins was named team captain of the 2001- 02 squad that finished 19-10 and reached the finals of the NCC Wells Fargo Finals championships. A threat from the outside, Jenkins knocked down 48 percent of his three-point shots in his two-year career at UND (36-for-75). He played in 52 total games and helped led the Sioux to a 35-21 record in his two seasons. As a senior Riley served as team captain and led the team — and finished third in the GLVC — in blocked shots (2.7 bpg). After helping the Flyers make the 1998 NCAA Division II tournament, he was named the team’s co-MVP and received the Lewis Coach’s Award. Riley, a graduate of St. Patrick High School in Chicago, Ill, received a bachelor’s degree in social work and human services from Lewis in 1999. NIGEL JENKINS Graduate Assistant Coach • 1st Season North Dakota (2003) Sioux in their last NCAA postseason appearance, 2002-03. He then moved on to Lakeland College, where he helped the school to its first-ever tournament appearance. He is persuing his master's degree in educational leadership at UND.
