quinn peterson
assistant strength and conditioning coach
SUPPORT STAFF
Quinn Peterson enters his third year as an assistant strength and conditioning
coach at UND after having spent the previous two-and-a-half years as a
graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Kansas State
University.
Born and raised in Stromsburg, Neb., Peterson received his bachelor’s degree
in exercise science from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2004, and
received his master’s degree from Kansas State in 2006.
Peterson is a certified strength coach through the National Strength and
Conditioning Association and Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches
Association. He is also a certified Level I Olympic weightlifting club coach.
Peterson and his wife, Emily, have two daughters, Lilly (3) and Eden (1).
john flatt
assistant athletic trainer
John Flatt enters his first season as an assistant athletic trainer at UND. Flatt
currently handles all athletic training assignments for the baseball and
women’s soccer teams.
Flatt completed a masters of science in exercise science at North Dakota
State University in December of 2007. He spent the previous year as the
head athletic trainer at Saint Stephen’s Episcopal School (Prep) in Bradenton,
Fla.
In May of 2003, Flatt graduated from Minnesota Duluth with a bachelor’s
degree of applied science in exercise science with a concentration in athletic
training. He was a redshirt freshman on the Bulldogs’ football team before
knee injuries ended his playing career.
Flatt has also spent time as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Concordia
College (2003-05), then served as an assistant director at Concordia from
January 2006 to June 2007. He became the interim head athletic trainer at
the school in Moorhead, Minn., from March 2007 to June 2007.
Flatt’s wife, Shan (Zaffke), is in her second year as a medical student at UND.
