Task Force on
Consumer Compliance
The Task Force on Consumer
Compliance promotes policy coordination,
a common supervisory
approach, and uniform enforcement
of consumer protection laws
and regulations. The task force
identifies and analyzes emerging
consumer compliance issues and
develops proposed policies and
procedures to foster consistency
among the agencies. Additionally,
the task force reviews legislation,
regulations, and policies at
the state and federal level that may
have a bearing on the compliance
responsibilities of the member
agencies.
During 2012, the task force relied
on the Home Mortgage Disclosure
Act (HMDA)/Community Reinvestment
Act (CRA) Data Collection
Subcommittee and several
ad hoc working groups to carry
out its mission. The task force
meets monthly to address and
resolve common issues in compliance
supervision. While significant
issues or recommendations
are referred to the Council
for action, the Council has delegated
to the task force the authority
to make certain decisions and
recommendations.
