Michigan Science Center STARLAB comes to JFK!
The JFK-PTA brought the Michigan Science Center STARLAB to JFK Elementary School last week! Students in kindergarten
through 2nd grade and Special Education crawled into an inflatable dome planetarium where they were treated to a view of
•
the current Oak Park night sky in the middle of the day. The STARLAB projector lit up the dark dome with bright stars, constellations,
planets and moons. The students learned about our solar system, constellation and star names, and where the earth
fits in the star neighborhood. The kids were excited to learn that a Red Star named Betelgeuse lies directly in Orion’s Armpit!
