JFK receives grant for anti-bullying program<br />
JFK Social Worker Mia Hall and Principal Derek Adams took receipt of a $1,796 check from John Ploskonka of Meemic<br />
Insurance Company Friday morning to help fund an anti-bullying program in the school. The program is coordinated through<br />
the Committee for Children and according to Hall, is set to be implemented at JFK this fall. “If we start at the elementary level,<br />
more children will be aware of the bullying problem and will be sensitive to the feelings of others,” said Hall. Hall applied for the<br />
grant this past fall. The Meemic Insurance Company of Auburn Hills funded the grant. Ploskonka is an alumni of <strong>Ferndale</strong> <strong>Public</strong><br />
<strong>Schools</strong> and a graduate of both FHS and JFK (when it was Best Junior High School).<br />
