Preface<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>NZIER</str<strong>on</strong>g> is a specialist c<strong>on</strong>sulting firm that uses applied ec<strong>on</strong>omic research and analysis<br />

to provide a wide range of strategic advice to clients in the public and private sectors,<br />

throughout New Zealand and Australia, and further afield.<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>NZIER</str<strong>on</strong>g> is also known <strong>for</strong> its l<strong>on</strong>g-established Quarterly Survey of Business Opini<strong>on</strong> and<br />

Quarterly Predicti<strong>on</strong>s.<br />

Our aim is to be the premier centre of applied ec<strong>on</strong>omic research in New Zealand. We<br />

pride ourselves <strong>on</strong> our reputati<strong>on</strong> <strong>for</strong> independence and delivering quality analysis in the<br />

right <strong>for</strong>m, and at the right time, <strong>for</strong> our clients. We ensure quality through teamwork <strong>on</strong><br />

individual projects, critical review at internal seminars, and by peer review at various<br />
