REPORT OF EXAMINATION INSTRUCTIONS Section 16.1<br />

TRUST SUPERVISORY SECTION (SHORT FORM)<br />

PURPOSE<br />

This schedule is used to communicate information <strong>of</strong> interest primarily to supervisory agencies. Comments should<br />

not duplicate information contained in the open section <strong>of</strong> the Report. When appropriate, use descriptive<br />

subheadings to separate subjects and improve readability. Prepare this confidential schedule when a Trust review is<br />

e mbedded within a safety and soundness examination<br />

Items addressed in the comments section should include the following:<br />

• A brief statement defining the examination scope, noting any areas that examiners targeted for in-depth review<br />

• A summary <strong>of</strong> the department’s risk pr<strong>of</strong>ile. Items that may be included may include:<br />

Nature and complexity <strong>of</strong> fiduciary products and services<br />

Type <strong>of</strong> accounts administered<br />

Data processing systems supporting trust services<br />

Third-party, fee-sharing, or outsourcing arrangements<br />

Strategic plans<br />

The effectiveness <strong>of</strong> the control environment<br />

The adequacy <strong>of</strong> the risk management practices relative to the nature and scope <strong>of</strong> fiduciary activities<br />

• Recommendations for future examinations<br />
