A Moment with the Pastor<br />
What a privilege to pastor a church<br />
that is striving to live out the truth of<br />
“Gathering in Unity”! Last Sunday<br />
morning, our rope visual, drama, and music helped<br />
us reflect on the fellowship and community of FBC.<br />
We are one body. Our world needs to see this unity<br />
that we have in Christ Jesus. This is what will attract<br />
people to the Kingdom when they see we have<br />
love for one another. Unity does not mean uniformity.<br />
It does mean, as Paul said in Philippians 2:2,<br />
“...working together with one mind and one purpose.”<br />
God can do so much when we are “Gathered<br />
in Unity”.<br />
<strong>April</strong> 25 our Sunday School theme is<br />
“evangelism” and our worship theme is “welcoming<br />
and sharing”. May God bless us as we grow to be<br />
effective, transformed believers for the Kingdom.<br />

On Sunday night May 2<br />
at 5:00 p.m., we will have the opportunity<br />
to do something new and<br />
different. We will have a prayer<br />
walk around our campus. What<br />
makes this activity unique is that<br />
we will do it collectively as a church. We encourage this<br />
to be an event that families will practice together. The<br />
Transformational Prayer Team will be organizing and<br />
leading this event and ask that you pray for and support<br />
this effort with your participation. The prayer walk will<br />
begin in our Worship Center and will involve prayer stations<br />
around our campus. Please mark your calendars<br />
plan to attend this important event for spiritual transformation.<br />

LOGO CONTEST<br />
Boys and Girls,<br />
We are inviting you to enter a logo contest as part of our<br />
Spiritual Transformation emphasis. This is for preschoolers<br />
(age 4 & 5) and children in grades 1-6. Posters will be<br />
displayed in the halls of the preschool and children’s division.<br />
All posters need to be brought back to your Sunday<br />
School teacher or may be turned in to the Children’s Ministry<br />
office by Sunday, May 2. Winners will be announced on<br />
Sunday, May 9. Each age group will be judged separately<br />
and there will be multiple winners in each group. Categories<br />
will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, overall winner and honorable<br />
mention. Winners will receive ribbons and prizes.<br />
We would like for you to design and color your version of<br />
the logo “Transformed by His Story”. Your design needs to<br />
fit in the space provided on the poster entry form you were<br />
given in Sunday School. Make sure your name and<br />
age/grade is on your poster. Have fun and be CREATIVE!<br />

We will be distributing free bottles of water from a tent on Main<br />
Street to the people who come to CityFest .<br />
Like every year, our two needs are donations of bottled water and<br />
volunteers to distribute the water on May 1. Water can be brought<br />
to my office during the week or on Sundays. A sign-up list for volunteers<br />
is posted outside the Adult Education office in the hallway<br />
near the Chapel. There are still shifts available. Shifts are generally<br />
one hour, but you can certainly work longer if you wish.<br />
This is a great way for us to give a cup of cold water in Jesus’<br />
name. Call John Johnston at 365-0606 if you have any questions.<br />
