A Moment with with the Pastor
Mission:SERVE came out of our Vision 2020 study this past year. As FBC
strives to be a missional church, that is , one that with purpose and intention is serving
our world in ministry and mission, these events will keep us focused. The front
page of this newsletter highlights all the available ministries for this Sunday. I personally
will be involved in helping our sister church, Pratt Court Baptist, canvass
their community. We plan on passing out packets about their church. I pray many will join me in this
effort.
We will be hosting a reception Monday night, September 24, for pastors’ wives and women’s ministry
leaders from churches in Montgomery, Elmore, and Autauga counties. Our church is partnering
with FBC Montgomery to host a major women’s conference in February 2013. Pastor Jay Wolfe’s wife,
Mary Ruth, and my wife, Arlinda, are leading the way in organizing this event. Kathy Troccoli will be the
featured speaker, along with many others for the Friday night and Saturday morning conference in February.
The reception Monday night will be led by Kathy Troccoli. Let’s pray for all their preparations.
This Sunday morning, Wynette Cox will share a moving personal experience she had on the ladies’
mission trip to Guatemala this past summer. You will not want to miss it.
Next month, our ministry is offering an opportunity
for some health screening. These scans will be
performed by medical professionals from Life Line
Screenings. These screenings are done as a preventative
measure against stroke, vascular disease and heart
rhythm issues. There are charges for the scans, with discounts
and donations toward the Senior Adult Ministry.
There is more information at various places around the
church. Look for the pink flyers titled “Protect your
Health”. Pre-registration is required for these screenings
on October 9 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
This Sunday will be a Serve Our Community
