Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Lady Diana and
personalities from the New york social scene of
the twentieth century such as Gloria Guinness,
Babe Paley, Slim Keith and C. z. Guest are reference
points for many well-known fashion stylists.

With Chet Baker in their hearts, Teddy Edwards
sax at full volume, Bill Evans, Quincy Jones and
the Graduate - the cult film of the 1967 establish-
ment starring Dustin Hoffman - as icons of the
new romanticism while Martin Luther King had
America trembling in the squares with: “I have a
dream!”. This was the America of the not always
peaceful great marches which marked this era.
The great universities were the crucible - in both
the revolts and the traditions - of the America of
the future. Just like in Berkeley, California or New
york’s Columbia University. It was from these that
the influences, trends and fashions filtered out,
and this is how it was for Ivy Style. Preppy Style
