Johnny plays the piano while Cleo reclines and listens in a<br />
big chair nearby. He plays Bach in the almost empty lobby.<br />
The lights are low, it’s a quiet Sunday night.<br />
A room service waiter passes by with a tray.<br />
The front desk phone rings.<br />
81 EXT. CHATEAU MARMONT - MORNING<br />

It’s the next day. Johnny and Cleo pack the trunk with her<br />
things for camp.<br />
They get in his car, and head out.<br />

They drive out of town, out on the open road.<br />
83 INT. JOHNNY’S CAR - DAY<br />

The sun streams in the window as they drive along.<br />
Johnny glances over at Cleo. Her face is mostly covered by<br />
her hair, but he sees she’s crying.<br />
JOHNNY<br />
What’s wrong, Cleo?<br />
She tries to hide her crying.<br />
JOHNNY<br />
Why are you crying?<br />
