A Moment with the Pastor
Our 2013 Church Budget will be voted on this next Sunday morning. The Finance
Committee and Church Staff have worked together to prioritize ministry
needs. We feel the proposed budget is a challenge, but we are very capable in giving
this amount in 2013. You have been very faithful in your giving this year. We will
give more than $2.8 million to our current budget.
Don’t forget your Operation Christmas Child she boxes this Sunday. Bring your boxes to the Worship
Center foyer. I’m looking forward to seeing what God is going to do through you.
VeggieTales: Live! is almost here. Our children are so excited that we are hosting this performance.
We are the only venue in all Alabama this year for this event. Thank you Julie Parmer, Megan
Woodham and Carter Reeves for your leadership in this ministry.
Travis
P.S. Next week the Alabama Baptist State Convention will be meeting in Montgomery on November 13
and 14. Vaughn Forest Baptist Church is hosting this event. As Second Vice President of the convention
I will be busy with meetings on Monday as well as the convention days. If your schedule permits, you are
welcome to join us any time on Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
VeggieTales:LIVE! Is coming this Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. in our worship center. Tickets are
still available, but don’t delay – they are going fast. The VeggieTales cast and crew will arrive Sunday
morning with a large bus and an eighteen wheel tractor-trailer. We will have to reserve some parking
slots for these large vehicles but no handicapped, senior adult or guest parking will be impacted. If you
see traffic cones in a series of parking spaces, please do not remove them.
We had a great response to our survey for volunteers to help with small projects around the
church campus. Our Building and Grounds committee will line up some volunteer-friendly projects over
the next year and enlist help from those who have volunteered according to the skills they indicated. We
are blessed with so many in our church family who are willing to serve in a variety of ways.
John
We would like to say a big Thank You to all who volunteered to help
with Fall Festival and made it such a successful event. We absolutely
could not pull off an event of this size without the support of so
many wonderful church members. These volunteers really demonstrated
what it means to serve both our church and our community.
Thank you again for all you did for this event and for your continued
support of the Preschool and Children's Ministries.
Blessings,
Julie and Megan
