3.5.1 Global Parameters<br />
1. Set Global parameters<br />
• Make <strong>co</strong>nnection to <strong>Astro</strong> with browser<br />
• Set Language<br />
• Set IP address<br />
• Set Date/Time<br />
2. Set parameters for type reader used.<br />
3. Test the functions of inputs, outputs, and reader(s).<br />
• Make card valid<br />
• Test inputs/outputs<br />
These steps are described below.<br />
3.5.1.1 Establish Connection with Browser<br />
<strong>Astro</strong> is designed to function in a LAN. If use in a WAN is desired,<br />
see the requirements in chapter 3.6.3 and <strong>co</strong>nsult your network administrator.<br />
Ensure that you have a suitable PC with Microsoft Internet Explorer<br />
version 6.0 and SP-1 or later.<br />
► Turn on the <strong>Astro</strong> power supply.<br />
► Connect <strong>Astro</strong> to the PC using the network card in the PC<br />
This <strong>co</strong>nnection can be directly between the PC and <strong>Astro</strong> (use a<br />
cross-cable), or though a router, hub, or switch. The network manager<br />
must ensure that the settings of the routers and/or switches are<br />
<strong>co</strong>rrect if these are used.<br />
► Set the IP address of the PC<br />
The IP address of <strong>Astro</strong> is 192.168.1.1 when shipped. To <strong>co</strong>nnect to<br />
the <strong>Astro</strong> it will be necessary to set the IP address of the PC to a<br />
value in the range 192.168.1.XXX<br />
► Start the browser and <strong>co</strong>nnect to <strong>Astro</strong><br />
Enter the IP address of <strong>Astro</strong> in the address field of the browser.<br />
You should then see the login screen of <strong>Astro</strong>.<br />
