3.4.2 Housing
Note
The proximity readers are mounted with screws from the front side
of the reader, while the SL4 reader can only be mounted with bolts
from the rear of the reader. Mounting information is included with
each of the readers.
Mounting materials are provided only for the SL4 reader. In certain
situations this material may not be suitable. Ascertain that you have
sufficient and suitable materials for the readers you must install.
Mount the door strikes when installing the readers.
The distance between two Proximity readers (PX007B/MF) must
be at least 20 centimeters. See also the mounting instructions
on page 4-14.
The Astro is normally mounted in the cabinet on the DIN-rail. Mounting
materials are only necessary in order to mount the cabinet.
Take into account the following:
• Distance Astro – Readers.
• Mounting supply and battery backup.
• Network cable length to HUB / PC.
The following tasks can be done in any desired order.
► Lay all the cables in secure areas.
► Take care that all cables are sufficiently protected from wear
and tear as well as from external electrical disturbances.
In the instruction below, we assume Astro is mounted in the IEcabinet.
► Mount the cabinet.
A mechanical drawing of the cabinet is included.
► Mount the Astro on the Din-rail.
► Mount the Supply.
► Connect the supply to Astro.
Do not turn on the power for the Astro.
If the supply fails for a long period, the date and time will not be
preserved. This can result in incorrect access control functions.
This can be avoided by using a battery backup.
