As an experienced technician you will not be surprised that a thorough<br />

planning is necessary for a successful installation. In order to<br />

assist you we summarize the experiences of our technicians in this<br />

chapter.<br />

Keep in mind that the cables must be suitable for the specified data<br />

rates and the expected external interference. For example:<br />

• Reader data is not reliable with cables longer than 25 meters.<br />

Use shielded cable.<br />

Cable specifications are shown on the appropriate drawing. For example,<br />

for the specifications of the PX007B/MF reader see the drawing<br />

76000161 on page 4-4.<br />

• Network cables should be ac<strong>co</strong>rding to specifications determined<br />

by network manager.<br />

Tip If you wish to use RJ45 <strong>co</strong>nnectors, have a suitable <strong>co</strong>nnector<br />

tool and sufficient cable available.<br />
