Insurance<br />
All <strong>for</strong>eign students are obliged to<br />
have a valid health insurance and are<br />
expected to present the confirmation<br />
of the health insurance be<strong>for</strong>e the<br />
registration at the Study Department<br />
of the appropriate faculty/institute .<br />
Foreign students from the EU countries<br />
will present the European Health<br />
Insurance Card . After their arrival<br />
they have to register at the health insurance<br />
company called Všeobecná<br />
zdravotní pojišťovna (Mírové<br />
náměstí 35/C, Ústí nad Labem, office<br />
hours Monday and Wednesday<br />
8 a .m . – 5 p .m ., Tuesday, Thursday<br />
and Friday 8 a .m . – 3 p .m .) .<br />
Foreign students from the countries<br />
that have an agreement on providing<br />
free health care will present a confirmation<br />
about free health care issued<br />
by their home health insurance company<br />
. These students have to register<br />
at the above mentioned health insurance<br />
company immediately after<br />
their arrival in Ústí nad Labem .<br />
Foreign students from non-EU countries<br />
have to register at one health<br />
insurance company, which is authorized<br />
to do so in the Czech Republic,<br />
preferably at the above mentioned<br />
health insurance company<br />
(Všeobecná zdravotní pojišťovna,<br />
VZP) . However, it is strongly recommended<br />
that these students should<br />
have supplementary travel health<br />
insurance issued in their country <strong>for</strong><br />
at least the 3 first days of their stay<br />
in the CR be<strong>for</strong>e their registration in<br />
our country .
