U. PAID ASSEMBLIES<br />

Paid assemblies and/or entertainment will be approved by the principal. All schools will be limited<br />

to three paid assemblies involving outside entertainment. Grant funds cannot be used to provide<br />

additional paid assemblies. It will be the principal's responsibility to determine that only quality<br />

entertainment is used.<br />

Programs, assemblies, concerts, plays, etc., from other schools in the district, must be scheduled<br />

through all involved principals.<br />

V. SALESPEOPLE, AGENTS, FUNDRAISING, ETC.<br />

Access to schools will be limited to:<br />

salespeople, vendors, agents, etc. who are directly involved in school fundraisers or other<br />

school functions;<br />

those individuals listed above must have a vendor letter for the current school year signed by<br />

the director of special programs.<br />

W. LOCAL FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES<br />

The purpose of fundraising activities is to provide additional financial support to the academic, cocurricular<br />

and extra-curricular programs available to students on campus.<br />

Campuses may conduct fund raising activities throughout the school year. Consideration must be<br />

given for minimum disruption of instructional time during the school day.<br />

Raffles, lotteries and other games of chance are prohibited by State Law, and shall not be conducted<br />

on school property or by school organizations.<br />

Organizations identified as a non-profit with a 501(c) status are not permitted to conduct raffles,<br />

lotteries and other games of chance on district property.<br />

All fund raising activities must be approved and scheduled through the building principal with<br />

specific goals for the activity stated in the proposal. The principal will schedule fund raising<br />

activities based on three general criteria:<br />

length of time required for the fund raising activity<br />

number of fund raising activities scheduled for any given time period<br />

number of fund raising activities scheduled for any one program or organization<br />

Students who participate in fund raising will be held accountable for those items which they<br />

volunteer to sell or the money which will be generated by the sale of those items.<br />

Parents must consent for their child to fund raise by signing the appropriate form and understand that<br />

they are held accountable and responsible for fund raising items and monies.<br />

Students will not be allowed to conduct fund raising activities door-to-door or on the street.<br />

X. LIBRARY FINES: GRADES K-4<br />

The elementary classroom teacher is responsible for ensuring that students have the opportunity to<br />

turn in library books on or before the due date.<br />

1. Overdue fines are not charged for students in EC/PreK through 4 th grade. However, all<br />

students enrolled in <strong>Aldine</strong> ISD are responsible for paying the replacement cost of lost or<br />

damaged library materials in a timely manner.<br />
