Policy Plan. <strong>Teacher</strong>s must provide differentiated instruction during regular class time if more than<br />

30% of students fail to demonstrate mastery on an assessment.<br />

Re-assessment<br />

Re-assessment must occur on major grades. The evidence of re-assessment must be documented in<br />

the score notes of the teacher’s grade book including both the original and re-assessment grade.<br />

In order for students to receive re-assessment options, students must turn in major grade<br />

assignments and projects by the actual due date.<br />

Re-assessment must be completed within two weeks of the original assessment. Students must<br />

follow re-teach and re-assessment schedule developed by the home campus.<br />

Students are expected to take all assessments on the specified test day. Those who refuse to<br />

take the test on the specified test day will be receive a 0 and will not have an opportunity to reassess.<br />

(Exception: Parent note stating student had extenuating circumstances such as illness,<br />

death, family related issues, etc.).<br />

Each campus will develop a plan for monitoring the implementation of the Re-teach and Reassessment<br />

Policy.<br />

Re-assessment of major grades includes but is not limited to:<br />

Re-testing, using a different assessment<br />

Test corrections with justifications<br />

Written product<br />

O. PROMOTION/RETENTION/PLACEMENT POLICIES<br />

Promotion/Retention<br />

Students in PK are not to be retained. PPCD placement is determined by child’s age and<br />

qualifications for special education.<br />

P. EXTENDED YEAR<br />

Special Language Summer program for PK students is held on the home school campus and<br />

recommended for LEP students served in bilingual or ESL programs.<br />

Special education Extended <strong>School</strong> Year (ESY) will be provided as a result of ARD decision,<br />

usually at a centralized location.<br />

Bus transportation will be provided for students.<br />

NOTE: All teachers hired for summer school/extended year will be paid $25.00 per hour. Special<br />

Education teacher pay is $35.00 per hour.<br />

Q. FIELD TRIPS<br />

Field trips must be of an educational nature.<br />

Requests must originate with the building principal and be approved by the area superintendent.<br />

All trips need to be planned well in advance and have a written bus requisition submitted by the<br />

designated date each month for the following month's trips.<br />

All free/reduced price students must be allowed a sack lunch meal from the school cafeteria which<br />

meets child nutrition regulations. Paying students must be allowed to choose the same lunch to be<br />

paid for at the regular lunch price so as not to identify the free/reduced students. Student meal<br />

accounts may be used. The cafeteria manager must have at least two weeks advance notice so she<br />

may order the food for these lunches. A field trip form must be completed by the adult in charge.<br />

If possible, all costs associated with a field trip should be funded by campus organizations or<br />

special revenue funds. When necessary, campuses can ask all students to pay the same nominal<br />
