Student Code of Conduct<br />
The district’s jurisdiction includes any district activity on or off school property. While a student is at a school<br />
function all school rules apply. Any category 1, 2, or 3 infraction will be handled according to the <strong>Aldine</strong> ISD<br />
Student Discipline Management <strong>Handbook</strong>.<br />
All students are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner while attending any school related event<br />
or competition. This includes all travel, hotel, and sightseeing time associated with participation in any local, state,<br />
or national district related event. All students are under the rules and guidelines of the discipline management<br />
handbook. This includes, but is not limited to:<br />
Sponsors and chaperones must be respected at all times.<br />
Profanity of any kind, including songs, riddles or jokes, which may be offensive to others, is prohibited.<br />
Students must remain with the group at all times and be accompanied by another student when leaving the<br />
hotel room.<br />
Students must let sponsors know where they are at all times.<br />
Girls in boys’ rooms or boys in girls’ rooms without a sponsor present is not allowed. Students are not<br />
allowed to enter the rooms of students, sponsors, or chaperones not from <strong>Aldine</strong>.<br />
Curfew must be obeyed. (Curfew means each student will be in their assigned room with the TV and radio<br />
at a soft volume. In an emergency, students may call a director or chaperone; otherwise, phone calls must<br />
cease after curfew.)<br />
Local and long distance phone calls made from hotel rooms are not allowed.<br />
Internet access without a sponsor’s permission is not allowed.<br />
Water pistols, water balloons, or other creative missiles at hotel or competition site are not allowed.<br />
Fighting, loud noise, or any other disruptive behavior at the hotel or competition site is not allowed.<br />
Theft of any item is not allowed.<br />
Alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drug use is prohibited.<br />
Medications must be used as prescribed.<br />
Weapons are prohibited.<br />
Clothing should be appropriate for the day’s activities.<br />
Students are responsible for their personal belongings. The district is not financially liable for damage or<br />
loss of student’s possessions.<br />
Financial liability for all damage incurred by actions of a student shall be the sole responsibility of that<br />
student and his/her parent(s) or guardian. Failure to comply with the Student Code of Conduct may result in<br />
disqualification from the event, the entire competition, and any awards ceremony. The student is subject to<br />
being sent back home at parents’ expense. Additionally, the student may not be allowed to participate in any<br />
future district functions and events.<br />
