Transition from GEH to the classroom<br />

1. Length of the transition period must be determined by the GEH committee based on the<br />

student’s current medical information.<br />

2. ADA eligibility shifts back to the requirements of the 2-4 hour rule once the student has<br />

completed the transition period as determined by the GEH committee.<br />

AA. TRANSITIONAL INFORMATION<br />

Intermediate to Middle<br />

1. STAAR campus printout for sixth grade students.<br />

2. Labels for all assessment affixed to middle school permanent record card<br />

3. Iowa Test of Basic Skills printout for sixth grade students<br />

4. Reading and math benchmark assessments in cumulative folders<br />

5. The following lists of students are required:<br />

a. 504, Dyslexia, ARI, AMI, SSI<br />

b. special education program (e.g., life skills, resource, inclusion)<br />

c. ESL/ELI/Bilingual<br />

d. G/T / Accelerated (specify math, language arts, social studies or science)<br />

6. Cumulative folder<br />

7. By the end of the school year, any changes in a sixth grade student’s academic status will be<br />

communicated in writing to the seventh grade campus.<br />

AB. PARTY POLICIES<br />

THESE ARE THE ONLY SCHOOL PARTIES ALLOWED FOR STUDENTS.<br />

Winter - A one hour party with refreshments can be held the last hour of the school day on the last<br />

day of classes prior to the mid-winter break.<br />

Valentine's Day - Valentines may be exchanged by the students. No refreshments will be permitted.<br />

Surprise parties for students or teachers are not permitted.<br />

Do not send cupcakes, cookies, cakes, candy, balloon bouquets or flowers to celebrate special<br />

occasions.<br />

Foods made available to students through school must comply with federal and state child nutrition<br />

laws and regulations as stated in Section 15, Cafeteria Policies. Refreshments served at school<br />

parties for students must be prepared in health inspected food service establishments such as the<br />

school cafeteria, a bakery, delicatessen, restaurant, etc.<br />

Sixth grade students should have one social event per year.<br />

AC. STUDENT TRANSFER<br />

Students transferring from one school to another within the <strong>Aldine</strong> district will have permanent<br />

records sent to the receiving school.<br />
