Captive Winch<br />
The <strong>Lewmar</strong> Captive Winch Range can pull between 1.5 tons and 18 tons<br />
and operates with ropes of varying diameters. A unique design that allows<br />
rope to be stored under low loads, the Captive Winch features a ‘V’ groove<br />
on the hauling sheave which grips the latest specification in <strong>control</strong> lines.<br />
The 18000 Captive Winch has a pull of 18 tons and a holding load of 20 tons.<br />
Custom Stainless Steel Winch Range<br />
Available in sizes from 68 to 150, the <strong>Lewmar</strong> Stainless Steel Winch Range<br />
is manufactured from high-grade, high-polished stainless steel. Combining<br />
strength and durability with a stylish aesthetic, the 150 Stainless Steel Winch<br />
has a pull load of 14 tons and a holding load of 15.5 tons.<br />
Grand Prix Carbon Fibre Winch Range<br />
The GP Carbon Fibre Winch Range features the performance of the larger<br />
<strong>Lewmar</strong> winches with the added benefit of significant weight reduction due<br />
to the durable, lightweight construction. Easy to maintain, the winches can<br />
be fully <strong>custom</strong>ised to suit the functional application and overall design<br />
aesthetic of the yacht. The GP Carbon Fibre Winch is available in sizes<br />
from 50GP to 120GP. The 120GP Carbon Fibre Winch has a pull load of 10<br />
tons and a holding load of 12 tons.<br />
Custom 12 Ton Web Block<br />
The <strong>Lewmar</strong> Custom Web Block Range is available in sizes from 12 to 24<br />
tons. This 12-Ton Web Block has been designed with bespoke wood-effect<br />
cheeks, combining a classic look with the latest weight-saving modern<br />
technology as specified by Baltic Yachts for Panamax.<br />
V10/V12 Heavy-Lift Vertical Windlass<br />
<strong>Lewmar</strong>’s heavy-lift vertical windlass has a maximum pull of 5 tons on a<br />
22 millimetre studlink chain. Available as gypsy only and gypsy drum in<br />
left hand, right hand, and remote chain pipe configurations, the V10/V12<br />
Windlass can be <strong>custom</strong>ised to suit the specific application and can be fully<br />
integrated with ship’s powered hydraulic <strong>systems</strong>. A full range of <strong>Lewmar</strong><br />
windlass accessories is available, including Devil’s Claw chainstoppers and<br />
brake <strong>control</strong>s.<br />
Navtec Custom Carbon Hydraulic Vang<br />
By combining a working hydraulic cylinder with carbon technology, the<br />
Navtec Design Engineers capitalised on the inherent strength characteristics<br />
of carbon. Weighing one third of the weight of a Navtec Aluminium Vang,<br />
and one tenth of the weight of the Navtec Stainless Steel Vang, the Navtec<br />
Carbon Vang is easy to install and maintain. The smaller diameter adds<br />
to the sleeker style of the vang, which can be <strong>custom</strong>ised to any style<br />
requirement. The -400 Carbon Vang has a maximum push force of 39.7<br />
kilograms and a maximum pull force of 90.3 kilograms.<br />

Case Study: Athos<br />
The Hoek-designed 203’ Athos combines the latest<br />
load pin technology with <strong>Lewmar</strong>’s proven captive winch<br />
platform resulting in a significant step forward in both<br />
performance and safety. The Athos Design Team worked<br />
closely with <strong>Lewmar</strong>, developing the ability to track live<br />
hardware-load data, enabling the crew to constantly gain<br />
the optimum performance from the rig. The CW 18000<br />
was developed specifically for Athos, and will also be<br />
installed on Panamax.<br />
