Ingrid Roth

Ingrid Roth is based in the province of
Jämtland. Her acrylic art portrays a small,
safe world of provincial towns filled with
friendly people and loyal pets at home and
abroad. Upon completion of her studies,
her interest in painting grew as she settled
in Östersund after an incapacitating
accident and a long period of rehabilitation
during which she discovered the art of
Frida Kahlo, an artist to whom she feels
strongly connected. Her visions in glowing
colours are not unlike Chagall’s paintings

is the folksy and the naive. To Ingrid,
the creative process evokes a feeling
of contentment and her art aims to
communicate and convey a sense of
joy to the spectators. The paintings and
the lithographies are free caleidoscopic
visions partly based on memories and
dreams, sparking a feeling of
recognition in those open to poetic
imagery.
