Recycle Pump House Features: a) Number of Recycle Pumps = 3. b) Type of Recycle Pump = Vertical Turbine Type. c) Rated Capacity = 1350 cub M / hr. d) Maximum Head = 30 m. 2 Industrial Drain Water recycling System : The water from various drains of the plant including surface drains plus the cooling water overflow and neutralization pit discharge constitute the industrial drain. NALCO CPP has now installed Industrial Drain Water Recycling System. The insoluble solids and oil present in the industrial drain water is reduced to allowable limit and the treated water is used for controlling the coal yard fire and also as a make up for Ash Water. The salient points of the system are as below:-

Pre-treatment Section 2. Settling Basin section 3. Dosing System The pretreatment section comprises of a coarse bar screen, fine bar screen, a concrete inlet channel & settling chamber and diffuser baffle. Effluent after passing through the coarse & fine bar screens will be free from larger particles/debris. The same has been designed with twin objective of removal of suspended solids and oil. The Settling basin is provided with traveling scrapper mechanism to sweep the floor and push the settled solids to the end of the compartment from where it can be drawn by sludge pumps. The scrapper during the return stroke in raised position skims the surface of water and pushes the oil/grease to the other end from where it is removed by a floating disc oil skimmer. The skimmer collects the oils and transfers the same to oil drums by an on– board pump. The treated effluent from the settling basin flows to the sump by three no of overflow pipes. The purpose of the dosing system is to dose the required polyelectrolyte to the settling basin at required concentration, which will settle the insoluble solid particles to the base of the Settling Basin, herby reducing the suspended solid concentration from 1000Max PPM to 30 Max PPM
