Salient feature of the PCU are as below :
1. Capacity of P.C.U. = 65 MLD.
2. Inlet water quality
a) pH of water = 6.5 – 7.6.
b) TSS = Up to 320 ppm.
c) Turbidity = Up to 225 NTU.
3. Outlet water quality
a) PH of water = 6.5 – 8.5.
b) TSS = Less than 30 ppm.
c) Turbidity = Less than 50 NTU.
3. Turbo circulator features
a) Diameter of the turbo circulator = 43 m.
b) Depth of the turbo circulator = 5 m.
c) Detention Time = 2.7 hrs.
d) Capacity of turbo circulator = 2708 M 3 / hr.
e) Type of chemical dosing = Alum dosing,
Polyelectrolyte dosing and Lime / Soda dosing.
f) Scrapper / Bridge rotation time = 1.25 Rph.
4. Chemical solution tanks

2 Industrial Drain Water recycling System :
The water from various drains of the plant
including surface drains plus the cooling water
overflow and neutralization pit discharge constitute
the industrial drain. NALCO CPP has now installed
Industrial Drain Water Recycling System. The
insoluble solids and oil present in the industrial drain
water is reduced to allowable limit and the treated
water is used for controlling the coal yard fire and
also as a make up for Ash Water. The salient points
of the system are as below:-
