The Indianapolis <strong>Zoo</strong>’s<br />
endowment program dates<br />
back to 1978 when Laura<br />
Githens Smith established<br />
one of the endowment’s first<br />
gifts. The endowment is now<br />
named the Indiana <strong>Zoo</strong>logical<br />
Fund and has its own<br />
governing board, but<br />
remains incorporated under<br />
the Indianapolis <strong>Zoo</strong>. The<br />
