Is said to have painted portraits in Virginia, and in New York
where he advertised a Drawing School in 1767 and 1768. His
works are hard and dry but appear to have strong likeness.

Born Oyster Bay, L. I.; died Bermuda? Portrait painter who
worked in Newport, R. I., Boston, New York and Philadelphia.
His earliest dated painting is 1741, his latest only seven years
later.
