You were quite young when you started with sirius. how
did you get the idea about starting up this company?
After my graduation in Physics at the University of
Mumbai, I knew I did not wanted to go into the field
of research. Next, I also knew that I do not like to work
under a authority. However, I could not make up my
mind what to do. So, I started working in a company
and after 4 years of experience of working in different
companies I had the experience and confidence to start
up my own company. However, I really like to be around
people. So, I started up
Sirius Interactive together
with two of my
friends with whom I
worked together in the
company where I began
as a Scientific Editor. During this three year period at
the company I learned besides editing of scientific papers
also other competences among which are, human
resource management, recruitment, accounting and
more. Because I did not wanted to waste my time when
I was starting up the company Sirius Interactive, my
team and I decided to exploit the existing knowledge
rather than to start from scratch and we hired a consultant
for providing us with the knowledge which is
needed for starting up this business.

Physics, will you continue working at sirius interactive?
I do not make a distinction between my work and my
private life. My work has to be my passion and has to

life. More, I like to follow my dreams among which are
to write graphic novels, and addressing tough Physics
concepts by science communication. More future
plans are that I will have the idea to establish an office
in Mumbai, according to the growth of the company.
Sirius Interactive is in particular founded from
an idealistic perspective. I am really passionate about
‘’Spreading the word of Science’’. In more detail, we at

from the continent of
Asia and other non-western
scientific papers will
not be withdrawn from
the public just because of the language issues. We want
to connect Eastern values with the Western practise of
Science.
Can you combine your company and study in a good
manner?
‘’I never thought of it as a mountain’’, says Jaya about
whether or not starting up a company is a burden particularly

like Astronomy and Physics enabled her to understand
