Exploring inner space
As a yacht owner with a Triton luxury deep submersible aboard you’ll
be able to provide your family and guests with incredible experiences in
the deep ocean. Imagine descending to depths of more than 3000 feet
to areas of the sea floor that have never been viewed by man.
Relax and sip champagne in air conditioned comfort. The interior
pressure of the ABS classed and fully certified
Triton remains at surface pressure
and never changes. Go deep,
stay shallow, dive for minutes,
dive for hours. Nothing you
can buy, nothing you can
do, can give you the incredible
experience of a Triton.
Triton Submarines are subject to the world’s most stringent safety testing:
The single most important criterion in selecting a submarine is that
it must be certified by a known classification agency, preferably
ABS as they have the most experience in regulating submarine
design and construction. We tell our clients that “when the paperwork
weighs as much as the submarine, the project is done.”
The Triton 1000/2: two occupants to 1000 feet (305 m).
The Triton 3300/2: two occupants to 3280 feet (1000 m).
The Triton 1000/3: three occupants to 1000 feet (305 m).
The Triton 3300/3: three occupants to 3280 feet (1000 m).
The Triton 36000/3: three occupants to 35,800 feet (F.O.D.).
Triton Submarines LLC is a subsidiary of U.S. Submarines, Inc., and was
formed to build and market the world’s most advanced small submersibles.
An exaggeration, certainly, but securing classification is an
expensive and time consuming undertaking that is of critical
importance. ABS classed submarines and submersibles have
a perfect safety record and are statistically the safest form of
transportation in the world today.
Tens of millions of passengers
have been carried
aboard ABS classed
submarines without a
single serious injury
or fatality.
Designed for Comfort
The fully air conditioned passenger compartment of the Triton
remains at surface pressure irrespective of diving depth,
so the occupants experience no pressure change.
The fully upright seating is comfortable for hours
on end and the incredible viewing from the
transparent acrylic sphere has no equal.
Triton gets you closer to the reef than
any other sub and features digital
joystick and touch-screen controls.
Triton Submarines LLC is part of the
U.S. Submarine Group of compa-
nies. In addition to Tritons, the group
builds larger luxury submarines for
yacht-based operations that carry 4-,
6- and 10-passengers (http://ussubs.
com) as well as large diesel electric
luxury submarines and tourist sub-
marines. The group is also building
the world’s first undersea resort in
Fiji (http://poseidonresorts.com) and
has formed a new company engaged
in building sea floor residences and
commercial buildings
(http://ussubstructures.com).
The Triton 1000/2
A safe and secure portal to the silent world of the deep ocean:
The Triton 1000/2 is the smallest, lightest and most affordable Triton
The main ballast tanks
provide superior freeboard
and stablity, making boarding
while on the surface safer
and easier.
Over 330 years of combined civil submarine experience makes us the most experienced group in the world today.
At 10.5 feet in length the Triton
1000/2 has a small deck footprint
and takes up minimal space. A single
existing crew member can be cross
trained by us to pilot and maintain
your Triton. Truly, having a Triton on
board is much simpler than you might
think. And, providing remarkable,
unique and educational journeys to
the deep ocean will make you a hero
with your family and guests.
Great freeboard and stability makes
entering or exiting a Triton on the
surface safe and easy.
Spectacular visibility,
extraordinary surface stability
and excellent freeboard coupled
with state-of-the-art technology
in materials, control, navigation,
The Triton 36000/3
The deepest diving multi-passenger submersible in world history. Beauty that is more than skin deep…
The 36,000/3 pressure hull utilizes
Management at Triton Submarines has taken its collective 330+ years
of civil submarine experience and its successful Triton deep submersible
platform and joined forces with Rayotek Scientific, the world leader
No one that has experienced a Triton has then ever chosen a competitor’s submersible.
in high pressure glass fabrication, to produce
a design for a full ocean depth-capable multipassenger
sub that will revolutionize man’s
relationship with the deep ocean.
The vertical configuration of the Triton
36,000/3 allows for a high rate of descent
and ascent. The deepest spot in the ocean at
35,800 feet can be reached in approximately
two hours. Designed as a relatively light-weight
vehicle with a minimum deck footprint, the
Triton 36,000/3 is intended for extreme marine
tourism as well as scientific and commercial
work. The Triton requires minimal support
equipment and personnel.
Rayotek’s patented manufacturing pro-
cess and proprietary technologies to pro-
duce a sphere of high-strength specialty
glass. Glass has been successfully used
in deep submergence for over 40 years
and Benthos glass spheres are rated for
almost 30,000 feet (9,000 meters).
Rayotek’s proprietary technology is ca-
pable of overcoming previous manufac-
turing limitations and producing perfect
spheres of sufficient diameter to accom-
modate three occupants. By incorporat-
ing no metallic elements or through hull
penetrations in the pressure boundary the
design takes advantage of the fact that
up to a very high limit, glass becomes
stronger with greater compression.
The Triton 36000/3 F.O.D.
the world’s deepest diving multi-passenger submersible.
The deep ocean is no place for compromise and no other group in the
world today could design an extreme depth multi-passenger submersible
like the Triton 36,000/3. At the bottom of the ocean in the Challenger
Deep the pressure is 16,000 pounds per square inch.
The passenger compartment is under an enormous 170,000 tons of
hydrostatic force from the weight of nearly seven miles of ocean depth.
Yet the properties of the high pressure glass actually allow it to get
stronger under compressive load when no metallic interface exists. For
the first time in history an extreme depth submersible has a completely
transparent passenger compartment that allows uninterrupted viewing.
In comparison, the handful of subs that dive to 25,000 feet or less have
massive steel or titanium passenger compartments and cost five times
more than our 36,000/3 for about two-thirds the depth capability.
Full ocean depth. None of our competitors would know where to start.
Look for the new
An opportunity exists to reach the
deepest spot in the ocean, the 35,800 ft
Challenger Deep, forever changing man-
kind’s relationship with the ocean. Since
the beginning of time, an unimaginable
wealth of knowledge has been locked
away within the abyss. For the first time
in history, man will be able to repeatedly
explore the depths of our oceans.
What secrets will be uncovered seven
miles below the surface? Be a part of
making history by conquering earth’s
final frontier with the Triton 36,000/3.
And pay for your Triton 36,000/3 by pro-
viding adventure dives to the bottom of
the ocean for $250,000 per seat.
Experience
Experience the competition…
then buy a Triton
Triton Submarines has collected the finest,
most experienced talent in the civil submarine
business. Each member of the full time management
and staff at the company averages
26.7 years of dedicated civil submarine and
submersible experience. Including part time
staff the group collectively represents more
than 331 years of experience. No competitor
even remotely approaches this level of expertise.
The Triton’s incredible level of competitive
superiority is based on the tremendous operations
experience of the staff. We know what
works in the subsea environment because,
more than any group in the world, we’ve been
there. We’ve spent thousands of hours piloting
more than 80 different civil submarines
and submersibles. In addition, our Engineering
Manager was in charge of design review at the
American Bureau of Shipping for over 25
different submersibles.
About the competition…
One of the frustrating aspects of presiding over
a hugely experienced and capable group is that
new competitors spring up, make outrageous
claims and market inexpensive subs that are
marginal in performance. However, the general
public does not typically have the expertise
to recognize the quality and safety difference
unless they take the trouble to dive on models
made by the handful of different manufacturers.
Recently, an inexperienced but high-profile European
manufacturer provided a demo dive to a
prospective client and the hull leaked so badly
the occupants had to make an emergency exit
and the sub sank beneath them! Not good.
Freeboard is one of the many important features of a
manned submersible. Being able to safely and easily board
the sub while on the surface is critical.
MINIMUM WEIGHT, VOLUME & FOOTPRINT
Deck space is at a premium aboard a yacht and the Triton’s
compact design is only 10 feet LOA, less than half of most
competitor’s submersibles. This means the sub stows easily
and is significantly easier to launch and recover.
TRANSPARENT PASSENGER COMPARTMENT
The main reason for owning a submersible is to experience the
incredible diversity of the ocean world and to do that you have
to be able to see out of the sub effectively. The Triton’s totally
transparent passenger compartment provides unsurpassed
viewing for the occupants.
SUPERIOR SURFACE STABILITY & FREEBOARD
The catamaran configuration of the Triton results in unequalled
surface stability making it easy for the occupants to get in and
out of the sub while it is in the water. The top mounted entrance
hatch provides more freeboard (distance from waterline
to the hatch) than any other small submersible. The combination
of surface stability and freeboard represent the single
most important safety factor in submersible operations.
SIMPLE LAUNCH & RECOVERY REQUIREMENTS
Unlike many submarines where the hatch cannot be opened
with the sub in the water and the occupants have to be loaded
into the sub on deck, the Triton can be entered in the water,
from the yacht, a tender, or even a jet ski. The Triton does
not require an expensive, elaborate, man rated launch and
recovery system, making it far more cost effective to own
and operate.
UNSURPASSED FORWARD/DOWNWARD VISIBILITY
When you are cruising in a submersible underwater the best
view is forward and down. No sub in the world gives you
better viewing and gets you closer to the reef in front and the
sea floor below.
DIGITAL TOUCH SCREEN CONTROL & MONITORING
A highly sophisticated and proprietary digital touch screen
control, navigation and monitoring system makes Triton
uniquely easy to operate and reduces pilot workload. Embedded
checklists, automated alarms and an advanced
autopilot system improves safety as well.
THREE AXIS JOYSTICK CONTROLS
Digital proportional joystick control coupled to thrusters that
move the sub in all three axes provides for unsurpassed intuitive
maneuverability.
INDUSTRY’S MOST ADVANCED TRAINING & SUPPORT
Triton is the only sub company that has invested in a deep
submersible pilot simulator for customer familiarization and pilot
training. Every owner is contractually obligated to have an
operator successfully complete our in-house pilot and maintenance
training program which sets the industry standard for
effectiveness. Customer support is also available 24/7.
OPERATIONS & DESIGN EXPERIENCE
The Triton designers and operations senior staff are the most
experienced civil sub experts in the world. Patrick Lahey,
Triton’s president, is the most experienced civil sub pilot active
in the world today. Our far reaching experience means we have
seen the effective design and operations solutions in many
environments and this results in our ability to engineer the
world’s best submersibles.
Triton Support Vessels
Our SSVs (Submersible Support Vessels) are
designed to be highly efficient luxury vessels that fully
support out Triton subs with integrated support equipment and
launch and recovery systems. The 65’ catamaran is designed for
near coastal or inter island deployment while the 95’ SSV is a highly
efficient long distance owner operated passagemaker with 9000 nm
range. The 195’ SSV can go anywhere in the world, provides ample
luxury accommodation for more than 20 and will deploy multiple
Tritons from an interior moon pool.
An integrated launch and
