Claire disappears inside to the bathroom. Doug sits<br />
back, tipping his chair, looking up at a jet trail in the<br />
sky.<br />
Someone pokes him in the back of the neck.<br />
Money, Bitch.<br />
VOICE (O.S.)<br />
Doug tenses -- but notices the rest of the diners eat<br />
calmly. He turns and sees that it’s Jem.<br />
JEM<br />
What’re you doing here?<br />
Jem steps over the low fence, drops into Claire’s seat.<br />
DOUG<br />
(watching the door)<br />
What?<br />
JEM<br />
Fuck is this? Who you here with?<br />
Jem scoops up Claire’s slice and bites in.<br />
No one.<br />
No one?<br />
DOUG<br />
JEM<br />
Jem picks up Claire’s lemonade glass. He puts his lips<br />
on her straw and SUCKS.<br />
What is this?<br />
JEM<br />
Doug peels off two twenties, making to stand. He sees<br />
the pizza is “Hawaiian” pineapple and sausage.<br />
JEM<br />
Is this yours?<br />
DOUG<br />
You wanna get outta here?<br />
JEM<br />
Naw, naw, I’m cool. Let me get a<br />
beer.<br />
