DOUG’S POV<br />

Jem lying in the middle of the road, cops firing. Torn<br />

cash blowing everywhere.<br />

175 EXT. BOYLSTON STREET - CONTINUOUS ACTION<br />

<strong>The</strong>re are literally TWENTY POLICE CARS, all stopped at<br />

various angles in the street -- lights flashing -- doors<br />

ajar -- the officers having leapt into the action.<br />

Doug quietly approaches a BOSTON POLICE CRUISER, gets in<br />

and DRIVES AWAY.<br />

176 EXT. TOWN FLOWERS (MAIN STREET) - LATER<br />

<strong>The</strong> CRUISER outside the Florist’s shop.<br />

177 INT. TOWN FLOWERS - MINUTES LATER<br />

<strong>The</strong> bell RINGS over the door as he enters. Doug waits a<br />

few airless moments -- Another funeral arrangement lays<br />

in the shop -- like the one for Claire.<br />

-- until Rusty pushes through the black curtain behind<br />

the counter. He looks up eyeing the cop like any<br />

customer. <strong>The</strong>n he recognizes Doug’s face. Doug<br />

indicates that Rusty should come, in a hushed, secretive<br />

manner.<br />

Rusty...<br />

DOUG<br />

Rusty comes to the counter and the second he turns his<br />

head, Doug puts a GUN to it and PULLS THE TRIGGER,<br />

killing him instantly.<br />

178 INT. FLORIST’S BACK ROOM - CONTINUOUS ACTION<br />

<strong>The</strong> back room is empty.<br />

Doug enters, comes to the center of the room. He sees a<br />

SMALL DOOR, slightly open, lifts his gun.<br />

DOUG<br />

(calling out)<br />

Fergie, come on out.<br />

<strong>The</strong> door opens and Fergie comes through in his<br />

sweatpants, holding a BOSTON HERALD in one hand and a .45<br />

in the other, he stands seven or eight feet from Doug.<br />
